Stop guessing what the music is asking from you
A program that gives you clarity, musical understanding and Afro-Cuban context, so you can respond to Timba with confidence, intention and connection: on the dance floor and in your teaching.
This 3-month Afro-Timba Musicality program has a one-time special launch offer of €169 in December 2025
Yes, I want to be there
👉 You feel the music change, but you’re not always sure what exactly is happening, so you keep dancing and hope it fits.
👉 You know Timba has Afro-Cuban roots, but you don’t always know which rhythm you’re hearing or how to respond to it with your body.
👉 You’ve learned many steps and combinations, yet sometimes your dancing still feels disconnected from the music.
👉 You hear words, chants or calls in Timba songs, but their meaning remains unclear, and that makes you hesitant to interpret them.
👉 As a teacher, you feel the musical shifts, but explaining them clearly to students can be challenging.
👉 You want to use Afro-Cuban movement respectfully, but you’re not always sure when it’s appropriate - and when it’s not.
👉 You sense that going deeper into the roots would change everything…
but you don’t know where to start, or how to connect it all.
Timba is complex, and that’s part of why you love it.
But truly understanding the music?
That can feel a bit uncomfortable.
What is actually happening in the song?
What is the music asking from your body in this moment?
Many dancers feel the shift…
but aren’t sure how to respond.
Let us guide you
In an ideal social dance, you feel confident when the music changes. You understand what you hear, and your body knows how to respond.
You don’t dance on autopilot. And most importantly: you enjoy dancing the way you do.
You recognize the roots inside Timba. You understand when to use Afro-Cuban movement, and when not to.
And whether you dance or teach, you feel grounded, clear and respectful.
In this program, we open up the conversation around musicality and roots.
We share our knowledge in a transparent and accessible way: musical, cultural and practical.
Understanding Timba is like learning a language.
Once you know how what's behind the musical arrangements, everything becomes clearer and more enjoyable.
And your dancing changes naturally.
I'm ready!

✅ Dance Timba with more confidence, because you know how to respond to the musical changes.
✅ Feel calm and grounded when Afro-Cuban rhythms appear, because you recognize what you’re hearing.
✅ Know when and how to use Afro-Cuban movement (and when not to) so your dancing feels intentional and respectful.
✅ Have a clear understanding of Timba’s roots and rhythms, allowing you to dance (and teach) with more clarity, musicality and freedom.
We start by giving you the historical, musical and cultural context you need to truly understand Timba.
You’ll explore where Timba comes from, how it developed, and why it sounds the way it does: so you’re no longer just dancing to the music, but understanding it.
In this module, we dive into the cultural and spiritual roots of Afro-Cuban traditions in Cuba.
You’ll get to know the essence of Rumba and its three main styles, and understand how these expressions live inside Timba and give it its unique character.
Here, we focus on feeling the music.
You’ll learn how to sense the energy of a song, recognize when something changes, and understand when it makes sense to incorporate Afro-Cuban movement.
Each rhythm carries its own energy, and when you move with intention, everything starts to flow more naturally.
Using real song fragments, we’ll guide you in recognizing (through lyrics and rhythm) which Afro-Cuban context or tradition is present.
We connect these moments to traditional chants and rhythms, and introduce the basic movements associated with each one, so sound and movement start to make sense together.
In this module, we focus on application.
You’ll learn how to combine Afro-Cuban dances and movements with Timba in a way that flows naturally within the salsa count. Without forcing it, and without losing musical coherence.
As a final integration, you’ll learn one Afro-Timba musicality choreography.
This piece is designed as a celebration! A way to bring together everything you’ve learned and experience how roots, rhythm and musicality come together in movement.
